GOLDEN  COMET

Golden Comet Chickens

The Golden Comet is one of the finest brown egg layers available today. They mature early at around 4 1/2 months while most breeds take 6 or more months to mature and begin laying eggs. They lay eggs of excellent size and quality. Golden Comets have the capability to lay 270-300 eggs a yr. on less feed than most brown egg layers. They are a quiet breed that can withstand the colder, non-insulated poultry barns of the average flock holder. The Golden Comet is a sex-link strain, meaning the chicks can be sexed by color.  Hens hatch out brown, roosters white.  They are a dual purpose breed. The roosters make great broilers or roasters.

My breed is the F1 cross.   Deposit required for hatch or call to see if we have any older ones.

As you can see from the picture, my breed has darker tail-feathers than the more common seen Golden Comet.  They also have less white showing through their body.  This is, in my opinion, a more attractive Golden Comet.
